Sometime ago we switched to cloth napkins to reduce our usage on paper towels. I feel like we could not have enough of cloth napkins based on my affection for them. I do tell myself that if someday I do laundry and they don't fit in our napkin drawer I will know we have enough. I have been working on embroidering the alphabet letters on cloth napkins here and there the past two weeks. I plan on just having a stash of these because they make great gifts especially hostess gifts if you find yourself staying with some good friends!

- embroidery thread, or yarn
- embroidery needle
- embroidery hoop
I bought this yarn last fall and LOVED it because it looks like thread, so I couldn't resist using it like some. Plus this was on the tag:
Set up your napkin in the embroidery hoop and loop your thread. Draw our your letter first, if you wish. I admit I just freehanded these letters with the "back stitch", then tied off the string, unhooked the embroidery hoop and went on my way to the next letter. I love doing these because they are quick and easy and I can stash them away for the right giving occasion.
